Derby Rules & Information
The Whidbey Island Puget Sound Anglers annual Coho Derby, celebrating local fishing while supporting conservation and community engagement.
- Saturday: Dawn to 4:00 pm
- Sunday: Dawn to 2:00 pm
- Bayside Marine, Everett
- Fort Casey State Park, Coupeville
- Only hatchery (fin-clipped) Coho Salmon are eligible.
- Wild salmon cannot be retained or weighed.
- minimum weight for entry: 3.0 lbs. whole.
- Fish must be bled but not gutted or cleaned.
- Largest Coho Salmon: Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
- Mystery Fish: Prize for the catch closest to a predetermined mystery weight.
- Participants must have a valid fishing license and derby ticket.
- Only one fish per contestant per day can be weighed.
- In case of ties, the earliest weigh-in-time will detemine the winner.
- All WDFW regulations must be followed.

Participants assume full responsibility for their own safety and agree to waive any claims against the Derby Committee, sponsors, or officials.

Congratulations to our champions of the 2nd Annual Coho Derby!
- 1st Place: Richard Bergman, Sequim, at 9.15 lbs
- 2nd Place (tie): Jennifer Sutton, Lynnwood, at 8.35 lbs
- 2nd Place (tie): Michael Lavigueure, Duvall, at 8.35 lbs
- Mystery Fish: Randy Johnson, Snohomish, at 6.63 lbs
Special Prizes:
Two Scotty Downriggers were awarded to Tee Hicks and Wendell Bunch of Oak Harbor.
